The Slidin' About trombone quartet is an experienced brass chamber music group based in the United Kingdom and consists of four talented trombonists - Steve Jones, Paul Exton-McGuinness, Nick Birch and Matt Denney - who currently study at the Royal Northern College of Music. Formed in 2010, they have compiled a diverse and flexible range of repertoire encompassing a wide range of genres.

In 2013 Slidin' About won the Foden's Youth Open Quartet Competition, the prize being a new commission by Foden's Youth Resident Composer, Andrew Stevenson. They also won Most Imaginative Name!
The quartet were accepted on to Live Music Now! in 2013. Through LMN! the group provide workshops to special educational needs children and recitals to the general public.
Slidin' About became the pBone Apprentice Quartet in January 2014. Read more on the workshops we can provide with pBone.
The quartet has performed in venues such as Ripon Cathedral, Royal Northern College of Music Concert Hall, Harrogate Royal Hall and Manchester Cathedral.
